My first day of official classes went so well. I think my lighting class is going to be a highlight of the semester. My professor uses a teaching style that is very easy to connect with (very relaxed and personal). He seems like a very wise individual, and I look forward to learning from him. Also, there are only 7 people in the class, which is really nice. We watched a silent film in my film history class, which was definitely a new experience for me. Most of the time, classmates were doing funny voices and saying things for the characters (which was amusing). If you've never seen "Birth of a Nation" by Griffith, it's the longest film ever! On top of being a silent film, it's over three hours long! But it is the movie that set the standards for all other films to follow, so it's good to see.
I'm starting to form many beautiful friendships. Last night, I attended a Life Group meeting with lots of other girls from my "residence hall" (they don't like to call them dorms here). We just got to know each other and will be meeting every Tuesday night to pray, play games, support one another, worship, and just talk about life. The three seniors leading the group seem like incredible women of God who really want to be here for us. God is truly surrounding me with a support system, and I'm so grateful! I love the community here.
College life is so awesome!
