Fall Film Update

We wrapped the film, titled The Hard Sell, yesterday afternoon. It went so well and I learned a lot by being on the set. It's weird walking through the commons now and not seeing hallways jammed with equipment and people! I also got to spend a lot of time with friends who were also crew, so that was awesome. The first few days, a couple of us went up to the third floor and had a lunch party while we babysat equipment. Speaking of lunch, I didn't have to worry about feeding myself all week, so that was a blessing! We had a great crew, great cast that were fun to be around, and it's going to be a great film. I made new connections with fellow filmmakers and learned a lot about what is involved in script supervising. Not sure if I could do it in a script that has actual dialog, but it's fun for me. Here are a few photos from the set and check out the website on the post below for new videos :)

Fall Film at Regent

Every semester, Regent creates an endowed film. CTV students apply for positions and then run the show on a funded film. It's legit. We are shooting all week and I'll be acting as the script supervisor. I'm in charge of continuity and making sure everything in the script gets shot. We had our first day today and it went great! We are actually shooting in the commons so it's quite convenient to go right out my door on to the set. And you guys can actually watch a live stream of the set on this website! Watch it from 9AM-6PM until Friday and you'll probably see me :)

Engagement Photos

One of the other things we did while Steve was here was taking engagement pictures! I asked one of my friends Dan McCullum, who graduated in the spring, if he would take them and he did an amazing job! He is seriously the most gifted photographer I've ever met. The shoot was really fun too. My lovely friend Gabrielle did my hair and makeup, I borrowed cute clothes from my other friend Breanna, and Ashely came to the location with us as an assistant/photo coach for us. We shot in the Norfolk botanical gardens where they had an "enchanted forest." It was perfect! These are some of my favorites, but if you want to see more, check out my facebook :)

CHAINS Shoot

We finally shot my film for my producing class this weekend. God really blessed it and it went so well! The crew was amazing, especially Rachel my director of photography. She really shared my vision for the film and made it so powerful through lighting. It was an all-girl crew too, which was fun. This is the most professional film I've made at Regent so far. I had to be the director, producer, and editor for it and I've only every been the last one. So it was quite a lot of work and I'm thankful I don't have to think about pre-production anymore. God is really moving through this project and I'm excited to see what he does with it. After we filmed mine for 4 hours in the morning, we turned around and shot Heidi's film until 6 PM. It was a busy day!

Art

Here's a photo of a sketch that my friend D did for her animation project. She asked if I would be the subject for it. She's so talented!

Peaks Wedding

Jason Peaks, who is my coach as a life group leader, got married on October 8th! It was such a beautiful wedding. Their love for each other is inspirational. They truly seek to follow God both separately and as a couple. It was a cute vintage style reception with dancing and a photo booth. Pretty sure half the attendees were Regent people, so it was really fun :)

Super yummy dessert buffet!

CBN 50th Anniversary

CBN celebrated its 50th year of broadcasting this month and had a HUGE party on Regent campus. Thousands of people came for the festivities that included a concert by Mercy Me, hot air balloon rides (that never actually carried people because of the wind), an antique car show, a live television broadcast that evening, and fireworks! It was such a fun day, and the best part was that Steve was here for it :)

Ummm...no thanks...

Kettle Corn = Happy Steve :)
